The Commemoration of World Environment Day 2025

On 5 June 2025, 7 associations, civil society organizations, local communities, and youth groups will celebrate the 29th World Environment Day under the theme of “Good policy, proper implementation, clean Cambodia” at Tonle Bassac 2 Restaurant, Phnom Penh, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The commemoration is being carried out with four main objectives: (1) To celebrate World Environment Day 2025 in Cambodia, (2) To promote the implementation of national and international policies, as well as the responsibilities of stakeholders regarding environmental issues and climate change, (3) To promote public participation in monitoring the implementation of policies to maintain a clean environment and protect natural resources, especially by raising awareness of the impacts of plastic use and air pollution, and (4) To collect input from citizens, local communities, youth, and vulnerable groups in particular, to be included in a joint statement on current challenges and proposed solutions related to the implementation of environmental and natural resource policies.​

To achieve these objectives, this celebration of World Environment Day will include a rich variety of activities, including a​ live drama performance, reflecting on the impacts of environmental Pollution. There will also be a roundtable discussion on the Rise of Environmental Pollution and Potential Solutions, as well as small group discussions, to highlight the perspectives of youth and local communities on environmental issues. A Tree exhibition will be accompanied by a Q&A activity, with prizes for participants, and an Environmental Youth Song.
